We moved to the clubhouse in Dudley in June, 2007 and immediately set out to create a flexible track plan that would allow us to run somewhat casual, switchlist-based operations, as well as the opportunity to run more serious, car card & waybill-oriented operations.

We've come a long way since those early days when a large empty room was staring us in the face!

The current Worcester Central Lines is an HO scale, standard gauge layout, with a large "main line" area and two separate branch lines. In the image to the right, the branch lines are at the top and the main line is at the bottom.

Our layout concept assumes an alternate history where the WCL acquired the Boston & Albany (once part of the New York Central) route across Massachusetts as well as the lease for the Providence & Worcester (P&W) from Penn Central.

Clicking on the image will bring up a large scale version. You can also get a more detailed view by opening the PDF file of the layout. Scaling it up to about 400% should allow you to see the detail. Keep in mind that even after all this time, the layout is still a work in progress, so there are variations between the track plan and the actual layout construction.

In addition to the main layout, we are constructing an L-shaped O Scale layout.
